Proteins are made of different amino acids. According to the World Health Organization (WHO) apart from the concentration of each amino acid in a protein, we have to take into consideration the digestibility of the protein itself. In other words, what the concentration of each amino acid in a given protein source is, and how much of if can you digest. If you take these 2 into account, by multiplying them, you can calculate what is called: the Protein Digestibility Corrected Amino Acid Score. If this number is 1, the protein source can be considered complete. Rice protein itself does not meet the criteria of complete protein, but if you mix rice protein with pea protein, then you get a complete amino acid profile, not only because of the proper concentration of Amino Acids, but also because their digestibility is also close to 1. AbsoRice and AbsoBAR contain both protein from rice and peas, and this makes them complete protein sources with a PDCAAS of close to 1.
