Chemical Pharmaceutical Biologist from the School of Chemistry, UNAM, with a Master’s and Doctorate in Sciences Degrees in Molecular Biomedicine, from CINVESTAV, IPN, that included a three-year stay as visiting student at the Institute of Genetic Medicine McKusick-Nathans of Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. From 2005 to 2010, Research Associate and Head of a core unit for gene expression and genotyping microarray analysis at the National Institute of Genomic Medicine (INMEGEN), dedicated to the development of genetic association studies in complex diseases and the Mexican Genome Diversity Project. From 2005 to 2010, lectured in undergraduate and graduate courses in genetics and genomic medicine. Member of the Mexican National System of Researchers (Level I) since 2010. In July 2010, she joined the Nestlé Research Center (NRC) in Lausanne as research specialist, from 2011 to 2013 she was appointed Group Leader, first of the Functional Genomics team, and then of the Nutrient Biosciences group. Since 2011, she has been Principal Investigator in the Nestec-EpiGen Consortium research program, focused in the study of the role of maternal nutritional status and epigenetic markers in the offspring’s later in life risk to develop obesity and metabolic disease. Since February 2013, she has been NRC Maternal Nutrition Platform leader and the scientific leader and manager of the Nestec-EpiGen Consortium Research Program.
