Petr works as the EU Affairs Manager at EU Specialty Food Ingredients, formerly ELC, which represents more than 200 international and national food ingredient companies either directly or through sectoral and national associations. Petr’s expertise includes EU regulatory affairs for food ingredients, food technology and nutrition which he utilises in supporting the activities of the Nutrition Committee established within the association. The Nutrition Committee addresses various topics, among others, health claims, novel foods, foods for specific groups, addition of vitamins and minerals to foods and Codex Alimentarius Committee on Nutrition and Foods for Special Dietary Uses. Before joining EU Specialty Food Ingredients in 2013, Petr worked as an advisor and nutrition consultant to the food industry and educational institutions. Petr gained his experience in the fields of nutrition, regulatory affairs, consumer communication and quality assurance at Nestlé where he worked on various positions including Quality Assurance Specialist and Nutrition, Health and Wellness Manager. Petr holds an engineer’s degree in quality assurance and food technology from the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague.
