Prof. Dr. Massimo E. Maffei is professor of Plant Physiology at the Dept. Life Sciences and Systems Biology of the University of Turin. He was Director of the Department of Plant Biology, Deputy Dean of Faculty of Sciences and Coordinator of the Ministerial Centre of Excellence for Plant Biosensing in the University of Turin. He was postdoc at the Institute of Biological Chemistry (WSU-USA). His main interest is on secondary plant product bioactivity, characterization and purification (using GC-MS, LC-MS, CE-MS, molecular biology, microscopy). He is the Editor in Chief of the JCR Open Access Journal of Plant Interactions. He teaches Plant Physiology, Astrobiology, Secondary Plant Product Biochemistry, and Transgenic Food Plants. He wrote several textbooks on Plant Biology and Biochemistry. He is editor of several books and author of about 200 papers. He is the co-founder, R&D Director and Sales Director of the University of Turin Academic Spin-Off Biosfered S.r.l.
