Siobhan Higgins

Dissemination Director, ODIN Project
Dr Siobhan Higgins is a scientist at the Cork Centre for Vitamin D and Nutrition Research at University College Cork in Ireland on the European Commission-funded ODIN project entitled “Food-based solutions for optimal vitamin D nutrition and health through the life cycle”. Her role on the project initially involved overseeing the EnhanceD randomised controlled trial on vitamin D fortified eggs and more recently as the Dissemination Director for ODIN. Previous to this, Dr Higgins was employed for seven years as a lecturer at the University of Glasgow in Scotland, and while working there, she was a principal investigator on the European Commission-funded Infabio project. She has a PhD in Nutrition from University College Cork and an MSc degree by research from Queen’s University, Belfast, Northern Ireland. She holds a BSc degree (1st class honours) in Human Nutrition from the University of Ulster in Northern Ireland.
