Sabine R. Zwakenberg is a third year PhD student at the Julius Center of the University Medical Center Utrecht, The Netherlands. Her PhD research is focused on investigating the relation between vitamin K and cardiovascular diseases. She investigates the effect of vitamin K on vascular calcification using a randomized trial and observational studies. She is also assessing the different risk factors for intimal and medial calcification. She has previously conceived her bachelor nutrition and dietetics at Hanzehogeschool Groningen and her master in nutrition and health at the VU University in Amsterdam.
