Anca Miron is Professor of Pharmacognosy at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Medicine and Pharmacy Grigore T. Popa - Iasi, Romania. Her main research interest is focused on plant polyphenols, particularly proanthocyanidins, anthocyanins and stilbenoids (isolation, characterisation, in vitro and in vivo bioactivity evaluation). Professor Anca Miron published more than 70 papers on plant-derived natural products in national and international journals (e.g. in Comprehensive Reviews in Food Science and Food Safety, Industrial Crops and Products, Natural Product Communications, Natural Product Research, Journal of Medicinal Food, Phytochemistry Reviews, Evidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine, Flavour and Fragrance Journal, Molecules, Fitoterapia, Zeitschrift für Naturforschung). She was principal investigator in several national and international research grants and co-author of four national patents. Professor Anca Miron received several national awards such as Servier Young Investigator Award (1998), Award for Pharmaceutical Research Activity (2002) and Award for Excellence in Pharmaceutical Research (2014).
