Dr Anna-Marja Aura, works as a Principal Scientist at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd and has a title of docent in Food biochemistry (University of Helsinki). During past twenty years, she has developed predictive methods mimicking upper intestine and colon for various purposes (nutritional properties, safety, DF-bile interactions, DF fermentation, intestinal discomfort and bioconversion of DF phytochemicals). Her special expertise is in understanding the role of colon microbiome in formation of the microbial metabolome from DF ingredients, and its impact on circulating metabolome, thus elucidating benefits and challenges of DF-microbiome interaction. She is a currently a member in the Novel Foods Board of Finland, and a Management Committee member in COST-Positive (FA1403), in which she leads two sub-groups on Phenolic acids and Lignans. Dr Aura has currently 118 publications in total (93 peer-reviewed, one patent).
