Mitochondria play a key role in aging due to their implication in oxidative stress, cell metabolism, and apoptosis. Composition and quality of microbiota can affect gene expression involved in mitochondria activity. Understanding mechanism of microbiota metabolism will allow us to provide solutions and new technology platforms for oxidative stress, inflammation, healthy aging and diseases related to mitochondrial dysfunction.
