The body needs an adequate fat intake to release bile salts that emulsify omega-3 properly in the intestine. Without fatty food, omega-3 is not solubilized and not absorbed efficiently. By applying self-micro emulsifying delivery system (SMEDS), we intend to optimize the absorption and delivery of omega-3 to the bloodstream, independent of fat intake.
