As a field under seemingly constant review by EFSA, the status of probiotics in Europe currently remains uncertain. Despite this the consumer interest in the, suggested, multiple health benefits of probiotics and prebiotics remain high and as the market grows so does the pressure on industry to add to the ever-growing portfolio of probiotic based health solutions.
