At the heart of the nutraceutical and functional food industry we find the continues search for ingredients with documented and substantiated effect on immune function. It is easy to argue that prevention of ill health begins with a strong immune system and as such it is hardly surprising to see the continuous growth in both interest and commercial profitability in the area. This debate will aim to identify the core and well-established ingredients for increased immune function, identify the next generation of ingredients and latest innovation as well as review gaps in knowledge and opportunities for growth.
