Evaluating the effects of acute ingestion of a black elderberry compound on nitric oxide biomarkers, blood pressure and exercise capacity in healthy adults

Vitafoods Centre Stage

A number of naturally available functional ingredients (e.g. beetroot, blackberries) have previously demonstrated numerous positive physiological benefits to human health and exercise performance. However, to enhance consumer choice and in consideration of taste preferences it is important to establish as many varieties of ingredients that can positively influence human health and/or exercise performance. This research examined whether a proprietary blend of black elderberry influenced nitric oxide biomarkers, blood pressure and exercise capacity in healthy adults.
